John Tsunis is a CEO and entrepreneur focused on Real estate development, hotel management / development, and banking. He is the founder of Gold Coast Bank in Islandia, New York, and former Chairman of the Board and CEO.

In little more than eight years, John Tsunis’s Gold Coast Bank went from one location in Islandia to a publicly-traded company and was acquired by Investors Bancorp in 2016.

He is the owner of the Holiday Inn Express in Stony Brook, Chairman / CEO of Long Island Hotels LLC, which owns and operates the Courtyard by Marriott at Republic Airport, Long Island / Farmingdale NY, TownePlace, Suites by Marriott at Republic Airport, Long Island / Farmingdale NY, Hampton Inn & Suites in Newark / Harrison Riverwalk New Jersey.

He is also the former Vice Chairman and General Counsel for Long Island Commercial Bank (Islandia, NY) and served as a member of its board of directors, executive committee, and loan committees.

A Member of the Board of Governors of Touro Law School, former Chairman of the Board of Directors of New York State Hospitality and Tourism Association, President of Tsunis Family Foundation Inc., past chair of the Stony Brook University Medical Center Children's Hospital Task Force and active in other philanthropic endeavors.
